Mediaverkstedet i Bergen (MiB) is a non-profit organisation working in the field of experimental expression and independent media production. Central in MiBs program is the facilitation of creative processes and stimulation to participate in cultural life. 

Mediaverkstedet is run by a collective offering project based film and video coursing to everybody interested. MiB is the regional organisation facilitating communal and private youth-programs  arranging workshops and courses in video/film production. As independent cultural operator MiB produces festivals and events presenting contemporary art where a local audience and visting guests get challenged to participate in media-art and cultural experiences. Long-term goal of MiB is to promote a greater level of social awareness through new media. MiB emerged 1977 as a loose network of film enthusiats sharing the desire to collaborate in mediaproduction. Many today known filmmakers in Norway were active working on early projects, producing media at MiB.
